Monel alloys are highly corrosion resistant alloys. These alloys are nickel based and are available in various grades across markets. The corrosion resistance properties of a Monel Pipe makes it useful in industrial sectors such as marine engineering, oil, and chemical processing industries. Though the primary consumption of the B165 Monel Alloy Seamless Pipe is the oil and gas industry. The oil and gas industry consists of fossil fuels, such as natural gas, petroleum, and coal.
The chemical makeup of said fossil fuels includes hydrocarbons. During the processing of Hydrocarbons, the ASME SB 165 Seamless Monel Pipe, are exposed to exothermic reactions that give off carbon dioxide, water, and heat. These reactions could corrode conventional steel alloys, and cause decay, especially since there is heat involved in the processing of hydrocarbons. However, the ASTM B725 Monel Welded Pipe is made from nickel containing alloys, which improve the heat resistance of the component.

About Monel K500 Seamless Pipe
Additionally, the content of copper included in the Monel Hexagonal Pipe also imparts the metal with some corrosion resistance properties. The tensile strength of this alloy is higher than several conventional steel alloys, making the Monel Hollow Pipe, a useful component in high pressure transmission of the oil and gas industry. The resistance to alkalis benefits the Monel ERW Pipe, as does its resistance to both hydrofluoric acid and sulfuric acid. Like most alloys that contain significant amounts of both nickel and copper, the alloy is malleable and hence, it is easy to produce the monel drill pipe.
