The ASME Sf468 Stud Bolts (alloy 400 grade of fasteners) has a proof stress of 80 kilos per square inch (KSI) and a heavy proof stress of 86 kilos per square inch (KSI). The other grades have proof stresses that range from sixty thousand to one hundred thirty thousand kilopascals. These fasteners have a hardness that ranges from 24HRC to 85HRB on the hardness scale. The ASTM f468 grade 5 material has a hardness of 24HRC, proof stress of 130ksi, and good corrosion resistance.
